Rosecomb BantamRosecomb bantams are considered by some to be the very first bantam breed, possibly bred as early as the 1400’s. In the US they have been in every APA standard since the first edition in 1874 The Rosecomb breed is nicknamed the “Beautiful Little Aristocrat”. These lively, proud, and showy birds have quite a following among fanciers. In the US the breed association is the Rosecomb Bantam Federation. The Federation was founded in 1947. Be sure to follow the link to the Rosecomb Bantam Federation’s website. There you’ll learn more about the breed, the club and can see photos of some of the many varieties this breed comes in. The Rosecomb standard calls for a small, very well balanced bird with a strong emphasis placed on a correct head, especially the comb and lobe. A full twenty eight points is allotted for the head. On our farm we're working with Black and Black Breasted Red (BB Red) Rosecombs.
